The Meadows Mouse Family
FATHER JACK MEADOWS is a farmer and the cousin to the village postman, Samuel Stamp. Sam had written to Jack some time ago and had suggested that he and Maisie move into the Sylvanian village. Jack was very keen to move and wanted everything to be just right. With the help of his new Sylvanian friends, he has created Meadowcroft Cottage, which is surrounded by acres of good farming land. Jack spends a lot of his time sowing, tending and harvesting his golden fields of wheat. However, what he is proud of the most is his charming cottage garden. It is a magical place with lots of nooks and crannies to explore, twisting paths bordered by big, brightly coloured flowers and rows of trees laden with luscious fruit.
MOTHER MAISIE MEADOWS is a very sweet lady who every morning can be found in her kitchen baking her delicious bread. It tastes so good because she uses the flour made from the wheat that her husband Jack has harvested. The smell of baking bread wafts throughout Sylvania and makes everyone hungry for their breakfasts! Maisie has also been commisioned by Basil, the chef at the Harvester Restaurant to make all his bread rolls, which she sends over fresh to the restaurant every morning. Maisie's other love is her herb and vegetable patch where she grows all the food they need at home. As she says to her husband ''It's all very well you growing those big fancy blooms, but we can't eat flowers, can we?''
BABY BROTHER HARVEY MEADOWS is a constant nibbler, especially when his mother is cooking. He will always be at her side just to see if there are any crumbs going spare. If there isn't any food available he will just nibble at anything to hand, old socks, cardboard boxes, stuffing out of toys etc. His mother goes mad with him, but he just looks at her with his cheeky grin and once again, he gets away with murder!
BABY SISTER JESS MEADOWS takes after her mother. She is very cute and everyone is very fond of her. She is much quieter than her brother and likes nothing better than to curl up in the clean laundry. She loves the smell of clean clothes and can often be found fast asleep in her father's best clean shirts!
BABY SISTER HETTY MEADOWS is fascinated by her father's garden and all the brightly coloured flowers. Whenever he is tending to the flowers, she will follow him and attempt to help. The first time she tried to help, she cut the heads off of all his prize tulips much to his dismay. But after her father showed her the correct way to look after the flowers she is much more of a help.

COUSIN SAMUEL STAMP is the jolly postman of Sylvania. Everyday without fail, Samuel is out at the crack of dawn delivering all the post to the residents of Sylvania. His favourite time of the year is Christmas, because even though his workload is practically tripled, he gets tremendous joy out of delivering cards and presents to the villagers.
Samuel Stamp was the first member of this family to be released, and came with the Village Post Office in 1992. The set was re-released approximately ten years later, identical to the original. The Meadows mouse family have become quite a hard find over the years. When originally released in the UK in 1995, the parent figures only came with the Meadowcraft cottage. The twin babies were sold seperately. The family were one of a few families to not get a re-release when Flair took over the production and distribution of Sylvanian Families at the turn of the century. The standing baby was released as a baby carry case, and another standing baby was released as part of a sand pit playset. The Meadows were released in the US in the mid 1990s as a family back with a brother and sister. This set is extremely rare to obtain, and often sells for over £150 on E-Bay when advertised.
