The Tailbury Dog Family
FATHER VICTOR TAILBURY loves to relax on his comfy sofa, looking for ideas in his magazines for his next big gardening project. He also loves sitting back to read or complete puzzle books. The trouble is, once Victor is settled on the sofa, he always drifts off to sleep. Once Purdy left him sleeping on the sofa and he didn't wake up until the following morning!
MOTHER PURDY TAILBURY has a large new fridge/freezer with lots of room for all her family's needs. There's space to store bottles, dairy products, ice cream and a drawer to keep vegetables fresh. The freezer even has a container for ice cubes. She always gets excited when she gets a new electrical appliance for the household. When she got a microwave she used it non-stop for an entire week, even boiling water in it to make a cup of tea!
BROTHER TAM TAILBURY annoys his sister by taking too long in the bathroom and making her late for school. He likes cleaning his teeth, washing his face and trying all the deodrants and soaps. But like many young boys; he does leave the soap lying in the sink and the towel on the floor!
BROTHER CHRISTOPHER TAILBURY absolutely loves ice skating with his best friend Jayne Golightly, and always looks forward to winter when it snows and the big lake freezes over. With a jump and swizzle the pair of them dazzle the crowds as they glide across the ice in a graceful blur.
SISTER JEANIE TAILBURY adores her desk with all of its drawers and space for her globe, school bag, pencil holder, pencils, pencil sharpener and papers. Most evenings she can be found sitting at her desk doing her homework, writing letters and drawing pictures for her best friends.
BABY TWINS TINKER AND BOUNCER TAILBURY are definitely the most well behaved twins in Sylvania. They are never any trouble because after they've played on the slide in their nursery, they like nothing better than to snuggle up and look at the colourful mobiles above their cot before falling asleep.

GRANDFATHER ROLAND TAILBURY enjoys a great many hobbies now that he is retired. He is an expert gardener and can create marvellous topiary shapes. A keen golfer, he likes to practise his driving and putting in the garden, taking care not to damage his beautiful lawn. He also enjoys relaxing in the garden with his newspaper and a cup of tea!
GRANDMOTHER JACQUELINE TAILBURY is an expert at knitting and dress-making. She loves making things for all her family, especially the grandchildren. The older ones like to sit at her feet and listen to her stories as she gently rocks and knits. Everyone loves her colourful creations...and her stories too!
The Tailbury Dog family were first released into the UK range in 2009, being part of a new 'Family At Home' range, where each member of the family came with a piece of furniture. The mother and two children started the family, with the father and remaining family members following the next couple of years. An extra brother was released in 2012, as part of an ice skating set with a Golightly Cat sister. The family was originally released in Japan in 1992 as the final Urban Life family. The Urban Life release did not have grandparent figures (these are a UK exclusive). The UK release featured the family wearing the same outfits as the Urban Life figures. The only difference was the UK figures had open hands. In the UK range, the Tailbury dogs have been released with the Chocolate Rabbit family in the 'Family At Home' range.
