The Red Roofed House
The Red Roofed House was an exclusive house to the Japan market, released in the early to middle 1990s. It has two rooms, an upstairs and downstairs. There is a ladder attached to the wall which can fold against the wall or open out. There is an extension terrace for downstairs, which is not very big, but does add extra space for furniture to be set up. There is also a large window downstairs, with some steps. The building can be attached to the large woodland lodge which was released in 1997 in the UK. There was a Japan catalogue with this building, showing how you can connect them. These buildings very rarely appear on E-Bay, but they appear quite often on Japanese auction site Rinkya, which is where I purchased mine.
In my village, the Cottontail Rabbit family live in this house. Originally they lived in the large deluxe house, but I decided to move them to this house next door to the Moss Reindeer Family. Because it looked more like a log cabin, I thought it would look good next to the newer log cabin in my winter scene. Originally the Corntop family lived here, but I felt they needed a more summery scene. I thought because one of the Cottontail grandparents had a nice warm blanket, she would appreciate a colder setting to use it in.
