The Fielding Mouse Family
FATHER DARCY FIELDING is the Sylvanian cobbler. He is a very skilled craftsman and makes everything from clogs and boots to slippers and sandals. But he is also very shy and rarely says more than “Thank you, madam” or “Ready next week, sir” when customers come into his shop. This means that very few people realise Darcy also has a wonderful sense of humour. He finds lots of things very funny, even when he probably shouldn't! Once he nearly fell off his stool laughing when a customer came into his shop in the middle of the day forgetting that he was still dressed in his pyjamas. Darcy didn't say anything, of course, he just handed him a pair of his finest silk slippers!
MOTHER BRIDGET FIELDING is a great help to her husband. She not only buys all the shiny materials and colourful laces he needs to make fine shoe, but she also assists him in the shop with his customers. The only problem with this is that she is very shy too and rarely speaks above a whisper – sometimes she has to repeat herself three or four times before people realise that she is even talking to them! Luckily communicating with her family at home is far easier. All her children know that dinner is at five o'clock on the dot and that bedtime is always at seven thirty. They all get a cudle if they are good and a 'wrinkled nose' if they are bad – and believe us, a 'wrinkled nose' from Bridget is almost as bad as a loud telling off from anyone else!
BROTHER DANIEL FIELDING is as intelligent as can be. But it took his teachers a long time to discover this as he never says more than two words in class. It was only when he got top marks in every subject that they realised just how clever he was. He is particulary interested in science and loves to study celestial objects like the stars and planets. Unfortunately his sister gets astronomy mixed up with astrology and keeps asking him whether it's going to be a lucky day for Sagittarians. Sometimes he tells her yes just to make her happy!
SISTER HELEN FIELDING is as quiet as the rest of her family, except when it comes to netball. She walks out onto the netball court and begins to order everyone around as loudly as possible. As she is so competitive she is usually made captain and regulary leads her team to a win, often scoring quite a few goals herself. The moment she gets off the court though she reverts to her normal shy self and wouldn't say boo to a goose. Everyone in her family is quite relieved actually!
BABIES CLIP, CLIPPERTY AND CLOP FIELDING spend most of their time curled up together in one of the old wooden clogs their father once made. Sometimes you can hear them scratching around inside trying to get comfortable. And when they're not fast asleep, they like nothing better than getting under their parents' feet!

UNCLE ALONSO FIELDING is the delivery driver for the local pizza take-away shop. Every evening when a Sylvanian telephones the pizza shop and orders a delivery, Alonso gets it delivered to them withing thirty minutes. He has always said if he can not deliver within thirty minutes they can have their pizza for free, but he has never missed the thirty minute mark yet.
AUNTIE ALETHEA FIELDING has a tiny ice cream cart which she likes to place in the middle of the 'Old town' of the Sylvanian Village during the summer months. She gets all her ice cream freshly delivered from the Beaufort Polar Bears first thing in the morning and then proceeds to sell it throughout the day. It's a nice job for her to do, and she always has an ice cream herself during her lunch break.
The Fielding Mouse Family were first released into the UK market in 2010, after previously being available in Japan. They use the same mouse mould as the Mace and Hawthorn family, instead of the traditional Thistlethorn mould. The auntie and uncle figures were exclusive to Tesco. The auntie came with the ice cream cart and was named Alethea, while the uncle came with the pizza take-away set, but was not named.
