The Devon Cat Family
FATHER IAN DEVON works in the creamery at Highfields Farm, where he makes all the creams, butters and cheeses from the fresh milk. It's a very hard job, having to churn the cream into butter, but it is one Ian enjoys. His favourite part of the job is being allowed to bring home fresh cream for his family each day.
MOTHER CAMILLA DEVON is the drama teacher at Berry Grove School. At a very young age she used to love appearing on the stage, performing in front of a massive audience. Now she is older she enjoys teaching all the young Sylvanians drama techniques.
SISTER HANNAH DEVON really enjoys baking cakes. Ever since she was first allowed to help her mother in the kitchen preparing a chocolate cake, she has read lots of recipes and is now allowed to make cakes and buns for the whole family. Her parents are hoping that she will become a chef when she is grown up.
BABY SISTER MATILDA DEVON will not stay still for a moment. The only way to make her stay still is to place her in her baby buggy and push her around Sylvania, where she is happy to sit still and smile at everyone she meets.
The Devon Cat family were originally released in Europe as part of the Easy Buy Range, a cheaper Sylvanian to encourage people new to collecting. The Easy Buy Range are more basic than the regular Sylvanian Figures and have less detail. For example, the bears and Rabbits do not have tails, and the clothes are cheaper than on a normal figure. In 2012/2013 Flair launched some of the easy buy sets in the UK, but as a family of three, the parents and a baby. The sister figures were not released. These sets were cheaper than a normal family set, but came with an item of furniture or an accessory to go with the baby. They were classed as 'The New Arrival' sets.
